Power Lines Petaybee Trilogy Anne McCaffrey Elizabeth Ann Scarborough Books
As are all McCaffrey's works, this book is well-written, engaging and filled with likeable people: human, animal and other--along with their rather cardboard enemies. The good guys win, of course, without taking too much damage (though some of the secondary characters did go through horrific experiences off screen) and all ends very well.Despite how that sounds, I like reading McCaffrey books because they're comfortable reads and I enjoy her notions of intelligent animal species and the importance of living cooperatively with the planet one depends on. She also values music, storytelling and crafts of all sorts, as they all reliably appear in her books, and so do I, so that's another pleasure for me. The main issue I have with her writing are the predictably narcissistic evil bad guys and the over-angelic good guys, both of whom limit the impact of her work and make it only pleasant. Sometimes all you want is a reliably well-written story that you know will end well, and McCaffrey always delivers one if those.

Power Lines Petaybee Trilogy Anne McCaffrey Elizabeth Ann Scarborough Books Reviews
Ok. I am a fan of books that Anne wrote or co-authored. This book isn't available unabridged in audiobooks so I purchased this one and the other two to read and was not disappointed. I have read all three in the series and now listening to the Petaybee Twins in audiobooks. It is essential that you start with the first book "Powers that Be" before reading "Power Lines".
Bless Ann mccaffery for creating so many wonderful worlds, sentient beings, very good story lines. I don't know whether I want to hang around with Col. Yana, or Killishandra Rey, or the Pern gang, or the Hawkbrothers, et. al.! What a brilliant and seemingly unfettered brain. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!,
I have read many books by these author's both separate alone
I really enjoying a current marathon reading of old favorites and I really enjoyed reading to new

This is the third time reading this set and I enjoy it more with each reading. The characters are all specific to their roles. I love to love the good guys and hate the bad guys. I will continue reading these books for as long as I can! The authors definitely know their character emotional tone levels! B Maders
THese two authors write a very good story. Solid story and plot development and they expand on the characters both main and support enough so that you feel their contributions to the storyline.
So I finally got around to reading this book, years after reading the original TPTB novel. Consider it just going with the story because it was predictable all the way through you were just reading to see if they could surprise you, and they didn't. Not saying its not a good story, and perhaps I'd view it differently if I was say 10 years younger and had read this closer to the time I'd read the first novel. So if you are looking to continue the series, go for it, its still a great story locale. If you are looking for edge of your seat surprises, best look elsewhere.
I think I started this book awhile back, and just never finished it. It looks like it was one of the last series that Anne McCaffrey wrote. I'm a big fan of hers. So, was happy to get back to this book and finally finish it. Already bought the next one. She does a great job along with her co-author creating a believable world of ice and snow, with suppressed people and the big, ole' bad company that is running the Earth space colonies. Really nice to immerse in this sci-fi fiction and let the real world fall away. Recommend if sci-fi fan and love to read about Earth colonies being the underdog.
