As an avid reader of most everything, I read "James. . ." with great enthusiasm. It's a delightful little book, and if one has ever tried to drive in London, or anywhere in the UK, for that matter, it takes on a wonderful sense of adventure for a child. I loved it. I hated London traffic, and the idea of driving on the "wrong" side of the road with a young boy at the wheel made it even more humorous to me. I loved it.

James and the Mini Minerva Taylor 9781466245143 Books Reviews
I've just read James and the Mini. This is a really entertaining fun little book for children aged around 6 - 10 years describing James' scary adventure driving around London in his mother's mini. The illustrations are excellent and add to the enjoyment of the book. I also liked the quiz at the end. A very good educational exercise for children and an excellent little gift. It's a well worthwhile buy to see the expressions on James' mother's face!
I bought this for my child and she loves this book. She wishes she could drive and the book is about a 10-year old boy who gets the opportunity to drive after his mother is incapacitated behind the wheel. The book also contains a good moral lesson in that even if your wishes come true, you should often beware of what you wish for. The illustrations are well drawn and help animate the action in the narrative. The print is easy for a child to read and the formatting of the book is also pleasing on the eye. The quiz at the end is educational and will help engage your child's brain. I would definitely recommend buying this book.
What little boy hasn't dreamed of driving a car? But alas, most cars have pedals and steering wheels that make driving impossible for a little person. And of course, children are prohibited from driving. Minerva Taylor in her delightful new book "James and the Mini" tells a charming story of a boy whose dream does comes true - an opportunity to drive a car made for adults but small enough for a child to operate. Through her delightful tale you learn about a direction challenged mother and the circumstances that made a little boy take the wheel of the car and save the day! Young readers will love the fast paced story and the wild ride that ensues through the streets of London! Teachers and parents will love the writing, storyline and math problems at the end of the book.
The pages of this book are very poorly formatted virtually no outside margins, uneven bottom margins and many crooked pages. I bought this to give to a child as a gift; however it is so haphazardly printed that I cannot do so.
What a fun read! Children will love the heroics of James and parents will laugh at the mother.
Truly a great find to please on both levels. This s suitable for both American children and
Children from places where they drive on the wrong side of the road .
Every kids fantasy is played out in this fantastic tale. James yearns to drive, but he's only ten and his dad won't let him behind the wheel. When his mother has a panic attack and passes out while driving, James assumes the controls and embarks on the adventure of a life time, but learns that sometimes real life can be a lot scarier than day dreams. This is a fun read for ages 7-12. Get it for your kids or grandkids today!
